YMM Parent launches cover contest at Boston Pizza
YMM Parent Magazine is on the search for its third contest winner to feature on the cover of its next print publication launching in June.
This year’s contest partnership with Boston Pizza – Fort McMurray and Emily Palmer of Emily Gale Photography is making it the biggest cover contest to-date with great additional prizes.
The winning contestant will receive a photoshoot with the talented Emily Palmer of Emily Gale Photography, featuring them with their family on YMM Parent’s front page with a cover story. They will also receive a Boston Pizza Family Night Out, including a free family meal and one hour of play on the new sports simulator at the downtown location.
“Why Do You Love Boston Pizza?”
The cover contest will be available in-restaurant only at both of Fort McMurray’s Boston Pizza locations throughout the entire month of March. On the cover contest sheet, contestants will have to ‘Draw Your Family’ and answer the question: “Why do you love Boston Pizza?” to enter.
Executive Director of Operations at Boston Pizza – Fort McMurray Liz Whitcomb said they wanted to partner for the contest because the publication represents the families of the Wood Buffalo region and have similar characteristics to the restaurant franchise’s brand.
“We wanted to partner with YMM Parent for the cover contest because we are both so family-oriented,” said Liz Whitcomb, Executive Director of Operations at Boston Pizza – Fort McMurray. “Boston Pizza is a great place for families to gather for quality time and a nice meal and adding a contest like this, just adds to the experience.”
Boston Pizza is the number one choice for Fort McMurray families when choosing a restaurant experience because it has all the elements for every family member, especially for children. Its kids’ menu is not only affordable, but it also has many food items available. They also have fun colouring activities to entertain them, so parents can equally enjoy the dining out experience.
Capturing the Essence of Family Living in Fort McMurray
This year’s cover contest will make it YMM Parent’s third opportunity for a local family to be highlighted. Since the inaugural cover contest took place, it has shared the photos and stories of two families – the Knox Family and the St. Denis Family.
“In the early stages of deciding what we wanted YMM Parent Magazine to be, one thing was most definite – we were going to showcase Fort McMurray families and share why they love living in our region,” said Dawn Booth, Editor-in-Chief of YMM Parent.
“Year after year, the contests have proved its success in making families feel special as they have shared with us after taking part and that’s exactly what we want to do,” she said. “It was also our mission to always have a local photographer capture the family and we are excited to bring Emily Palmer’s talent on board as she has proved to be one of Fort McMurray’s best in the field.”
Palmer is currently one of the city’s most sought-after photographers for local and destination weddings, and she’s well-recognized for her work with the Fort McMurray Firefighters Association’s annual charity fundraiser calendar.
She’s been behind the camera for a decade and has been running her own business Emily Gale Photography since 2015. As she’s currently transitioning her business to focus even more on localized occasions and events, Palmer said she’s grateful to have the opportunity to partner and support something that recognizes the community.
“Every year, I have new goals and this year’s goal was to start building new relationships and meeting like-minded business entrepreneurs. I believe in supporting all things local and I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity,” said Palmer. “I also love trying to find new locations and already have a ton of great ideas, so I’m really excited to see which family wins.”
