Summer Fun at the Library
As summertime approaches and parents are wondering what to do with their kids – think no more, bring them to the Wood Buffalo Regional Library (WBRL) at MacDonald Island, located at 1 CA Knight Way…
The WBRL offers Summer Programs for newborn to seniors. Programs run July 2 to August 25, 2019.
Newborn to age 5
On Tuesday and Saturdays Imagineers promotes and celebrates early literacy development through songs, games, activity stations, cooperative play activities, literacy tips and crafts.

Children ages 6-8
Gives children the opportunity to maintain or improve their reading skills during the summer by stimulating their interest in books and reading. The program has a simple, recreational and creative approach that offers children a structured reading environment and rewards their personal achievements.
Tuesday through Thursday with an activity and literacy component. Fridays are activity days. Thirty spots are available per day and pre-registration is required online.
Tweens age 9-12
Teens age 13-17
Adults 18+
Encouraging lifelong learning, Tween, Teen and Adult programs are self-paced and registered patrons enter a ballot for each book read. There are numerous events and activities scheduled throughout the summer for each of these age groups.
Each age group offers weekly prizes, and a grand prize will be awarded at the end of the summer party.
