Do-it-Yourself Egg Carton Flowers

I wanted to bring you a simple and easy springtime craft with items you’ll most likely have around your home. If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for ways to reuse items in the house – coffee tins, pickle jars or egg cartons. So, here you go! These egg carton flowers are the cutest spring craft to do with your kiddos.

Materials

• Empty egg carton

• Straws (pipe cleaners will also work)

• Paint colours of your choice

• Paintbrush

• Piece of paper for the background

Step 1

Start by cutting the egg carton. You’ll need two sections of four “egg spots” to make your flowers. You’ll have a section of four remaining. If you don’t have a paint tray, use it to put your paints in!

Step 2

Now, you’ll need to round out your edges of the carton and cut out those triangle-like pieces on each edge.

Step 3

Once you have both pieces rounded out, you can start to paint. Grab your favourite colours and paint your flowers!

Step 4

When you’ve completed painting, you can now glue them to your coloured paper. You’ll want them to be closer to the top of the paper, so that you can add your stems (the straws or pipe cleaners).

That’s it! How cute are these? This could double up as a Mother’s Day card, as well, and add a little note to it.
